Humaans - the London-based workforce technology company behind the agentic AI platform Athena - has announced its expansion into US payroll, Big News Network reports.

Humaans Payroll is set to roll out to its first customers in the autumn, a significant step in the company's expansion into the US and further upmarket.

Humaans has reportedly continued to build on its core system of record, in recent years offering organisations more ways to manage their workforce from a single platform. 

These steps included the launch of AI-powered Employee Engagement, which turns workforce feedback into actionable insights, and Athena, a system-agnostic agentic AI platform enabling companies to deploy AI agents across People, IT and Finance. 

"Everything required to pay someone correctly is the consequence of events the system of record already owns," Giovanni Luperti - CEO and co-founder of Humaans - said. "Someone joins, moves state, gets promoted, changes compensation, takes leave or receives a bonus. 

Yet every pay cycle, teams still spend enormous amounts of time reconstructing that context for payroll. We think payroll should begin the moment something changes in the workforce, not when someone sits down at the end of the pay cycle to prepare it."
