[Canada] Pay delays at AtkinsRéalis after resource planning system transition

In Canada, employees at engineering firm AtkinsRéalis have experienced delays in two pay cycles during the company’s transition to a new resource planning system, BNN Bloomberg reports.

A spokesperson for AtkinsRéalis (formerly SNC-Lavalin) confirmed delays in both the August 19 and September 2 pay cycles but stated that there were fewer problems in the most recent pay cycle. They did not specify how many employees were impacted.

Montreal-based AtkinsRéalis employed over 40,000 people worldwide by the end of 2025. The company reported total revenue of around $11 billion and over $2.6 billion in profits in 2025.

According to spokesperson Laurence Myre Leroux, the company offered to support employees affected by the delays and to pay them outside the regular pay cycle as needed.

The pay problems reportedly arose after the company extended its existing international finance and accounting platform to Canada in July. 

Ms Leroux said AtkinsRéalis had prepared its employees for the changes before the new system was adopted.

In an email to The Canadian Press, she said, “We remain committed to supporting employees throughout this transition and ensuring they receive the compensation to which they are entitled.”
