In Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) has announced that amendments to the Labor Law are in effect from February 19, Argaam reports.
These amendments are intended to enhance job stability and improve labour market efficiency to meet the needs of the private sector.
They reportedly include changes to 38 articles of the law, the removal of seven articles, and the addition of two new articles.
According to HRSD, the changes are aimed at improving contractual relationships among labour market participants, safeguarding their rights and fostering a more attractive and stable work environment in alignment with the labour market strategy.
In a statement, the ministry reportedly said that these amendments support ongoing efforts to achieve the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 by driving national economic growth, expanding employment opportunities, and strengthening the private sector’s role in development.
In addition, HRSD clarified that the executive regulations and other related bylaws will be issued alongside the amendments taking effect on February 20, per the Cabinet’s decision.
