In Oman, a powerful new industry body dedicated to regulating the hiring of foreign workers has been established, MSN reports.
The Association of Expatriate Worker Recruitment Offices has been tasked with strengthening governance, ensuring fair practices, and eliminating the chaos caused by unlicensed operators.
Its establishment - launched under Ministerial Decision No. 405/2025 by the Ministry of Social Development - reportedly represents a push for transparency and ethical compliance across the Sultanate's recruitment sector.
The association will provide recruiters with a formal channel to engage regulators, help standardise procedures, and create a mechanism to defend members’ rights before authorities.
