[South Korea] 8 out of 10 expats ‘satisfied’ with their life

A new survey has revealed that 8 out of 10 expats in South Korea are “satisfied” with their life in the country. However, around 20 per cent have experienced discrimination, The Korea Herald reports.

The survey was carried out by Statistics Korea and 25,000 expats took part.

Around 40.8 per cent of the respondents reportedly said that they were “extremely satisfied” with their life in South Korea, while 39.6 per cent stated that they were “a little satisfied.”

The number of foreigners residing in South Korea was estimated at 1.75 million in 2022.

The majority of respondents expressed satisfaction with their living environment and people.

Around 19.7 per cent of the respondents reportedly said they had encountered discrimination during their stay in South Korea.
