[UK] Government calls for evidence on unpaid internships

As part of its Make Work Pay plan, the UK government is seeking evidence and views on unpaid internships and internships paid below the National Minimum Wage (NMW), SLCC reports.

The government is also looking for information on other roles which may be unpaid or paid below the NMW.

Views from all stakeholders are reportedly being sought, particularly individuals with personal experience of these issues, worker groups, employers and businesses, and individuals or organisations with subject matter expertise.

Further information can be found and responses registered here. The call for evidence reportedly closes at 11:59pm on October 9, 2025.
