In the UK, estate agency eXp will be introducing unlimited annual leave for its full-time staff, to enhance the work-life balance of everyone working at the company, Property Industry Eye reports.
According to eXp, the move is intended to level the playing field between staff and the firm’s self-employed member agents.
eXp UK currently offers a statutory annual leave entitlement of a minimum of 28 days paid leave per year for staff who work a five-day week; the equivalent of 5.6 weeks.
Data shows that the average UK employee took 33.9 days of leave in 2023. This figure had reportedly reduced from an average of 36.7 days the previous year.
However, the 33.9 day average includes the nine bank holidays that fell in 2023 and less generous employers can include bank holidays within workers’ 28 statutory annual leave days.
eXp UK says it wants to help estate agents re-address their work-life balance by introducing an uncapped level of annual leave for all the firm’s full-time employees.
