In Sweden, the Finnish IT software and service company Tietoevry has announced a new long-term agreement to deliver HR and payroll services through its Primula platform, FinTech Global reports.
The deal was signed with Sweden’s National Government Service Centre (Statens servicecenter) and will ensure continuity for hundreds of government authorities nationwide.
The National Government Service Centre reportedly provides essential administrative functions, including payroll, HR, and financial services, to nearly 170 government bodies. The new contract comes into force on December 10, 2026. Under it, Tietoevry will continue supplying its HR and payroll system Primula for a further six years.
In addition, the agreement offers an extension option of up to four additional years, underscoring the confidence placed in the company’s software.
Eva Houltzén - Tietoevry Industry head of HR & payroll - said, “We are proud to once again earn the trust of the National Government Service Centre as we continue delivering Primula to agencies and higher education institutions across Sweden. Developed in close collaboration with our customers, Primula is a flexible system that streamlines HR and payroll work for over 150 customers in central government, of which the majority are connected to the joint agreement via Statens servicecenter. This renewed agreement is a testament to our commitment to continuously enhance our software and services.”
Primula will reportedly continue to manage HR and payroll requirements and it will also feature tailored integrations and specialist services to meet customer demands. A dedicated security framework has been built into the agreement, helping customers meet updated requirements set by the Swedish Security Service.
The contract reportedly contains potential for further innovation, with development of new features such as improved support for managing regulations under the Employment Protection Act (LAS) and expanded payroll backup routines. Enhancements that are designed to improve continuity planning and resilience. The company says a more structured supplier collaboration model will also be introduced, bolstering the partnership between the two organisations.
Ms Houltzén said, “For us at Tietoevry, a long-term approach and partnership with our customers are key values. Through this agreement, we can continue to deliver stability and at the same time drive innovation. We are excited to continue supporting the National Government Service Centre with our services.”
