From July 1, 2026, Romania’s national minimum gross monthly base salary will increase from RON4,050 to RON4,325, DLA Piper reports.
The adjustment reflects the government’s continued focus on aligning minimum wage levels with economic conditions and cost of living pressures.
The updated rate will reportedly apply to full-time employees working an average monthly schedule of 166.667 hours and equates to a minimum gross hourly rate of RON25.949. The amount refers strictly to base salary and does not include bonuses, allowances, premiums, or any other salary-related increments that may apply under employment agreements or collective arrangements.
The revised minimum gross monthly base salary will also apply across the agricultural and food industry sectors, supporting the continued alignment of minimum wage treatment across industries previously subject to separate sector-based thresholds.
