[Portugal] Government keeps national minimum wage increase goal

In the draft bill of the Great Plan Options (GOP) for 2021, the Portuguese government has maintained its goal to progressively increase the national minimum wage, from €635 to €750 in 2023. According to the document - seen on September 13 by a Macau News Agency reporter - the government will continue to work towards the goal by keeping its income policy focused on work and family income.

To fight against inequalities in the distribution of income and to reduce labour market segmentation, the government reportedly said that one of the proposed measures is to change the national minimum wage and then progressively increase it until 2023.
