In Poland, the government has officially confirmed an increase in the minimum wage, which will come into effect from January 1, 2026, GENIE reports.
According to the regulation published in the Journal of Laws, the gross monthly minimum wage is rising to PLN4,806, and the gross hourly rate for civil law contracts will increase to PLN31.40.
Unlike in previous years, no mid-year adjustment is planned. These rates will reportedly remain in effect throughout 2026.
DLA Piper advises employers to note that the increase in the minimum wage has an impact on other benefits received by employees and related to their employment.
The new minimum wage will cause the following payments to increase:
- remuneration for downtime
- guaranteed remuneration
- compensation for unequal treatment
- compensation for mobbing or for termination of an employment contract by an employee as a result of mobbing
The allowance for night work is also reportedly set to rise because it is calculated as 20 per cent of the hourly rate resulting from the minimum wage.
