[Czech Republic] Plans to support working from home criticised

Companies, state authorities and unions have been critical of the new rules for working from home included in a planned amendment to Czech labour law, Czech Radio reports.

Under the legislation, drafted by the Ministry of Labour, employers will have to allow some groups - such as parents of children under 15 - to work remotely if they wish, according to Czech Television reporting.

Workers would also reportedly receive a flat-rate contribution to support the costs incurred by working at home.

Opponents of the planned changes, however, claim that they are overly bureaucratic and will prove difficult to administer.

In addition to this criticism, the ministries of finance and justice have also questioned aspects of the draft amendment in an inter-ministerial comments procedure.
