[Czech Republic] Amendment to Labor Code
05 Oct 2023

On September 19, Czechia’s long-awaited Amendment to the Labor Code was published in the country's Collection of Deeds, Global Compliance News reports.

The Amendment primarily implements Directive (EU) 2019/1158 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2019 on work-life balance for parents and caregivers, and Directive (EU) 2019/1152 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2019 on transparent and predictable working conditions in the European Union.

In addition, it reportedly facilitates considerable progress in the digitisation of labour law documents and changes the method of their delivery.

The majority of the changes introduced by the Amendment became effective on October 1, 2023, though some will not become effective until 1 January 2024.
