In Bulgaria, teacher salaries are set to receive a 15 per cent increase under the Annex to the Collective Labor Agreement for the system of preschool and school education, novinite.com reports.
The Agreement was signed by Galin Tsokov - Bulgaria’s Minister of Education and Science - and the social partners, trade unions and associations of school principals.
The increase will reportedly be retroactive to January 1, 2023.
Under the signed Annex, the minimum basic salary for teachers will rise to 1,709 leva. The figure will be the same for all other pedagogical specialists including resource teachers, educators, heads of departments, information and communication technologies, speech therapists, psychologists, pedagogical advisors and others.
The minimum basic salary for senior teachers and senior educators will be 1763 leva and the rate for head teachers and head educators will be 1831 leva. Directors will receive at least 2,082 leva in basic remuneration while deputy directors will be paid 1,926 leva.
524 million leva has reportedly been provided from the State Budget to cover the salary bump.
