[US] Disney wants employees back in the office four days a week
10 Jan 2023

Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger has told employees to return to corporate offices four days a week from March 1, Reuters reports.

CNBC reported the news on January 9, citing an email. Disney did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.

The pandemic forced companies globally to rely on work from home, remote working or hybrid work models to prevent the spread of the virus.

However, with a rise in the uptake of vaccinations and an apparent fall in more severe cases requiring hospitalisation, Disney is mirroring other companies like Snap, Tesla and Uber by asking employees to return to their offices.

The move also follows Mr Iger’s return as chief executive officer replacing Bob Chapek in November. His was reportedly a surprise comeback, coinciding with Disney's need to boost investor confidence and profits at its streaming media unit.
