The HR, hiring and payroll software provider Employment Hero has announced the launch of its Recruitment Agent, powered by Hero AI, TecHR reports.
According to Employment Hero, the embedded hiring assistant dramatically cuts screening time for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and gives candidates a fairer, more structured path to getting noticed.
The Recruitment Agent is natively built into Employment Hero’s AI-powered Employment Operating System. It automates the most time-consuming stage of hiring: first-round screening interviews, delivered through a structured, AI-led video conversation with a voice that prompts role-specific questions and assesses cognitive, vocational and cultural fit.
This reportedly results in a 75 per cent reduction in screening time, consistent evaluation for candidates, and up to 10 days saved in the increasingly time-consuming hiring process.
Recruitment Agent has Hero AI, Employment Hero’s proprietary intelligence engine, at its core. Hero AI powers the company’s growing suite of agents – from conversational voice interviews to intelligent shortlisting and smart matching – embedding decision-support directly into the hiring workflow instead of layering it on top.
In addition, it powers “Ask Hero AI,” a platform-wide assistant that gives employers instant access to policy guidance, organisational insights and HR support within the platform.
“SMBs are stuck between two extremes right now, either they’re overwhelmed with applications, or they can’t fill roles fast enough,” KJ Lee - CEO at Employment Hero Canada - said. “Recruitment Agent changes that equation. It gives businesses speed and clarity, and it gives candidates a real opportunity to show what they can do, not just what’s on their resume.
