[Ghana] Controller defers November allowances to December after payroll problem

In Ghana, the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has announced that two categories of allowances expected to be paid in November 2025 were not processed due to a technical problem in the final payroll run, Modern Ghana reports.

In a November statement, the Department said the problem had affected the timely completion of payroll-related procedures, particularly for stakeholders within the education sector. 

Processing of the affected allowances was reportedly paused to prevent further delays in the payment of November salaries for all Government of Ghana workers.

The CAGD assured all impacted workers that the issue is being resolved and stated that outstanding allowances will be paid with December 2025 salaries on December 18.

“We regret the inconvenience caused and sincerely appreciate your patience,” the statement said.
