In Egypt, the cabinet has approved a proposal to change the name of the Ministry of Manpower to the Ministry of Labour, Ahram Online reports.
In a statement on May 31, Manpower Minister Hassan Shehata said that the decision - which will be published in the Gazette - complies with the constitution and Labour Law 12/2003 regulating the country's workforce.
The change of name is reportedly intended to reflect an expansion of the work scope of the ministry to cover all partners involved in the production process.
