In Saudi Arabia, the Professional Accreditation Program has made strides in the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development’s strategy to enhance market efficiency and ensure the reliability of expatriate workers’ skills across various sectors, Saudi Press Agency reports.
According to the ministry, the program has achieved 100 per cent coverage of targeted countries. It now encompasses more than 160 nations worldwide and over 1,000 professions.
The program has reportedly delivered significant milestones through its professional testing service, which evaluates the skills of incoming professional and technical workers by conducting theoretical and practical exams to establish their readiness for the Saudi labour market.
Testing takes place across more than 150 centres inside and outside the Kingdom, while the professional verification service ensures the authenticity and reliability of expatriates’ qualifications and experience across labour market specialties.
The entire process is fully automated and takes no more than 15 days.
By the end of the first half of 2025, more than 460,000 workers had reportedly been accredited through the program across key sectors such as the digital sector, culture and entertainment, financial services and insurance, energy and utilities, together with logistics and transportation.
