In Qatar, authorities have confirmed the official Eid Al-Fitr holiday schedule for public and private sector employees, Doha News reports.
According to the Amiri Diwan, the holiday for ministries, government entities, public authorities and public institutions began on Tuesday, March 17, and will continue until Monday, March 23, with work resuming on Tuesday, March 24.
Holiday dates for the Qatar Central Bank, financial institutions under its supervision, the Qatar Financial Markets Authority and regulated financial markets will reportedly be set separately by the Governor of Qatar Central Bank.
The Ministry of Labour confirmed that private sector employees covered by the Labour Law will receive a three-day Eid Al-Fitr holiday with full pay.
The ministry stated that employees who are required to work during the holiday must be compensated in accordance with overtime provisions under Article 74 of the Labour Law.
