In Ghana, the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has rolled out an upgraded electronic payslip system for all public sector workers on the National Payroll, Ghana New Agency reports.

The upgrade is intended to improve transparency, security and ease of access to payroll information.

A statement from Mr Cephas N. Dosoo - Head of Public Relations - on behalf of the Controller and Accountant-General, reportedly said that the new system requires employees to use their National Identification Authority (NIA) numbers to access their pay slips, to enhance accuracy and safeguard personal payroll data.

Public sector workers will be required to log on to https://gogepayservices.com to complete a registration process, which includes verification using an employee number and Ghana Card number.

Additionally, users are now required to confirm or update their phone numbers via a one-time password (OTP).

The registration process also requires employees to create a new password and select a security question and answer to enable future password recovery. Providing an email address will still reportedly be optional.
