The US HR and payroll platform Remote has announced its acquisition of Atlas, a San Francisco-based expense management fintech, Fintech Futures reports.
Remote was established in 2019. Its employment operating platform acts as a dashboard for employers, helping them manage contracts, payslips, and any local regulations from one country while employees work in another.
Atlas (formerly Hey Atlas) was founded by CEO Karen Serfaty and COO Gianina Rossi in 2022. Atlas provides cross-border expense management and corporate card solutions to help businesses manage day-to-day financial operations for a global workforce.
The Atlas card is reportedly designed for remote workers and gives companies the ability to manage expenses and stipends with customised rules and support.
Atlas also provides companies with a flexible points system, allowing them to allocate budgets without processing reimbursements, together with the ability to offer and manage local health insurance across countries such as the US, Mexico, and Colombia.
Remote stated that it is “already working on bringing these new capabilities directly into the Remote platform” to help businesses simplify spend management for employees abroad.
Financial terms of the deal have yet to be disclosed.
