A new law providing a guaranteed minimum wage for workers in the private sector and easing the process for foreign workers to move to new employers will take effect in Qatar in October. It introduces a non-discriminatory minimum wage for all private-sector workers - including domestic workers - and removes the requirement for non-Qatari citizens to get a 'No-Objection Certificate' (NOC) from their employer before transferring to a new employer.
