[Barbados] Employers must file monthly PAYE with employee details

All employers in Barbados are reminded that they must file their February 2019 PAYE return with all the required details for every employee and make payment by Friday 15 March, Nation News reports.

There is now a requirement from the Barbados Revenue Authority (BRA) for employers to provide a Pay As You Earn (PAYE) breakdown for all employees, regardless of whether PAYE was deducted, and to state that basic monthly salary will be included instead of the basic annual salary.

The accommodation of PAYE payments without Electronic Payment Advice (EPA) was for one month only - to allow employers time to understand the system - and is now at an end. BRA advise that employers must file February’s PAYE, and make all future PAYE payments, with EPA.

Employers may file in bulk or by the form e-filing method. If the preference is to file in bulk, BRA’s website has the required Microsoft Excel template and XML schema.
