[Poland] Draft minimum wage increase adopted from 2021

According to the draft adopted by the government, the Polish minimum wage in 2021 will be as much as PLN 2,800 gross, Warsaw Business Journal reports. 

The increase means that full-time employees receiving the new minimum wage rate will earn around PLN 2,061 net. The hourly rate will increase to PLN 18.30 gross The current minimum wage stands at PLN 2600 gross, or about PLN 1920 net and PLN 17 gross per hour

Therefore the minimum wage will increase by 7.7 per cent from 2021. The adoption of the new draft means withdrawing from the original government plan, under which the minimum wage was to be PLN 3,000 gross from 2021. 

The Government Information Center (CIR) reportedly said the implementation of this act will increase state budget expenditure by approximately PLN 385.8 million. Budget expenditures will increase by approximately PLN 2.5 million upon adoption of the proposed hourly rate.
