Avoiding Payroll Pitfalls in Africa: Tax Updates and Compliance Risks

Payroll professionals in Africa can take proactive steps to reduce the risk of non‑compliance with tax authorities, one of which is staying informed about ongoing tax developments across the continent.

This session will provide a multi‑country overview of payroll‑related tax updates in Africa. It will include a detailed focus on the recent tax reforms in Nigeria, and the compliance pitfalls employers are encountering as a result of these changes.

Furthermore, the session will explore key compliance challenges faced by employers in various African countries including Tanzania, Uganda, South Africa, and others, and offer insights into the consequences of tax non‑compliance, along with practical steps employers can take to address and correct these issues.
